The Blue Empire-Generation 6
Introduction-
Kiana’s
death by meteor strike could hardly have happened at a worse time. Craig had
just started a new job at the stadium where he had to fight against his
Grandfathers still lingering brilliance. He also was still trying to control a
board full of conflicting interests that his family had placed into his hands
the moment he was old enough to shoulder the responsibility. And that was
nothing compared to the infant son Kiana had left behind.
William
would never remember her voice or her endearing, yet strange, personality.
Never know her caress or just how much she had loved him and his father.
Instead, he knew Craig and the babysitters.
The
babysitters, thankfully, didn’t last long. His father had decided that the best
thing for young William was to go to the gypsy’s who had recently moved in and
have the woman make a match for him. A new bride could potentially help the
entire household, as well as the brides. The only hitch in this plan was that
the young lady selected, Kristine Pink-Purple, was little more than a child
herself. But she was in a family with 6 kids and not enough food to go around.
Her father had made a deal with Craig and had essentially sold her into
marriage. Her father had only one ounce of conscience to bestow on
Kristine, and had a contract drawn up making Craig respect her age in every
way. When she was of age, one final payment meant he could take her to bed.
Craig was mourning a woman he loved dearly and was only thinking his son needed
someone around to take care of him. And so Kristine entered William’s life.
Craig
respected his new father in-laws contract and did his best to make young
Kristine feel welcomed into the big empty mansion the three lived in. Kristine
was so thankful for the food, the nice things and clothes as well as Craig’s
hands off attitude to her. In her mind, marriage was fun!
Though
she was there to take care of William, she resented Craig’s loving mien with
the boy, remembering her mother’s depression and her father’s stoicism. She
also knew that if anything happened to Craig she was at William’s mercy. Also,
the boy was strange and much smarter than her. She worried that he would see
straight through her and tell Craig, upsetting her current security. Determined
to ensure her own safety first and foremost she made sure that her coming of
age would mean she was forever taken care of.
